Aurora Cedars School in Wolverhampton will offer a bespoke education provision for up to 80 pupils aged 5-19 who have ASC/SEMH needs.  The curriculum is creative and personalised for the pupils to ensure that we provide them with the best opportunities to succeed.

We are currently looking for a Forest School Teacher to join our school.

The role / Key duties:

  • To provide leadership of Forest School and subject management to secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils.

  • To develop whole school approach and opportunities to Forest School

  • Set expectations and targets for pupils in relation to standards of pupil achievements and the quality of teaching.

  • Work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Monitor, assess, review and report on the progress and work of pupils

  • Use data effectively to identify pupils who are underachieving and where necessary create and implement effective plans of action to support those pupils.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.

  • Forest School Qualification and relevant First Aid qualification

  • Experience of teaching pupils with SEND and working from EHCP documents 

  • Thorough working knowledge of the curriculum and how to adapt this for pupils with SEND 

  • Ability to create and maintain strong nurturing relationships with young people 

  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to learning, to include the students with anxiety and SEND
