Job overview

The Graduate Intern posts are an exciting and ideal opportunity for candidates who are looking at careers in teaching or education. If you are looking to develop your leadership skills and implement change in an educational setting, this role will appeal to you.

We are looking for well qualified, aspirational graduates (2:1 or higher) who want to contribute to our highly successful schools. Wembley High Technology College is one of the highest performing schools in the country. Nationally, the achievement of our pupils is exceptional; in 2023 our Progress 8 score was + 1.41 - one of the highest in the country. This progress from Key Stage 2 to GCSE has a transformative impact on our pupils’ life chances and last year, over half of students went to a UK Top 40 university including Oxbridge and top courses such as Medicine. In September 2020, Wembley High welcomed pupils from North Brent School in Year 7 while their new £27 million building is completed. The addition of a new school in our Multi-Academy Trust provides exciting development and leadership opportunities for staff in the years to come.

SECONDARY ROLES (£28,187 gross over 10 months)

Year Leaders: Under the guidance of our Behaviour and Attitudes leaders, you will lead a year group (210 pupils) and be responsible for their day-to-day management, upholding the school’s high standards of behaviour and academic excellence whilst also contributing to the delivery of our assembly and Personal Development programme. This offers an exciting opportunity to make an outstanding contribution to the whole school community and develop an in-depth understanding of the education sector. Successful candidates will rapidly develop their communication and leadership skills whilst in the role placing them in a position to take on further responsibility in their next role; previous year leaders have progressed to Assistant Headteacher level in the school.

SEND Teaching Assistance: Working as part of our SEND team, you will provide high quality support for our students with additional needs. This will involve 1-1 intervention both in lessons and outside of lessons and will offer you the opportunity to change the life chances of the individuals you are working with. You also may be placed to work within a specific department providing the highest level of academic intervention to students. We particularly welcome applications from those who can teach in the following areas: Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Geography, History, and Computer Science.
