The school is a thriving, voluntary aided, non-denominational, inclusive comprehensive school serving the educational needs of boys from the ages of 11 to 18, from a diverse local community. The school benefits from a joint co-educational sixth form with a neighbouring girls’ school. We are on the edge of Hampstead Heath in the London Borough of Camden with 800 on roll and we are part of the highly regarded LaSWAP sixth form consortium.

(Leadership Scale L9 – L13, full-time, although flexible working considered)

The school wishes to appoint a dynamic leader who will build on the work done in recent years on improving provision for young people with additional educational needs.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, vision, resilience and strong interpersonal skills to join the extended leadership team of our good and rapidly improving school.

The successful candidate will:

· have a proven track record of good teaching including a demonstrable passion and effectiveness of attainment of students with SEND and prior lower attainment;

· be an inspirational leader, with evidence of effectively working with and through others to raise standards and with the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of young people;

· have, or be willing to commit to achieving, the SENDCO qualification

The Aims of the School

William Ellis School is a voluntary-aided, non-denominational comprehensive school in the London Borough of Camden, serving the secondary educational needs of boys in the diverse local community and of girls in the Sixth Form.
