Head of Science

 Greenfield Community School is a four programme International Baccalaureate World School. Situated in the Green Community in Dubai the school has an enrolment of 1280 students from KG to Grade 12. Greenfield Community School is a culturally diverse school with over 80 nationalities. Sitting near the site of Expo 2020 the school is looking forward to an exciting time of growth and development. 

GCS seeks an outstanding and inspirational educator and leader to lead the Secondary Science Department. The Science Department is one of the school’s core subjects and teaches the MYP Science programme as well as Diploma Programme courses in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. All students follow Science at MYP and almost all post 16 students follow at least one Diploma Science course. As part of the Secondary campus we have four dedicated Science labs and four additional Science classrooms and we are using the close proximity of the Expo 2020 site as a focus to develop the STEM agenda. We have recently introduced Robotics as an extra-curricular activity and very much wish to grow this area. 

Our new Head of Science will play a key role in both developing the IB and students love of Science as well as maximising their success in external assessments. They will lead a team of fully qualified Science teachers, which will include performance management and professional development. We are looking for someone with the vision to develop the teaching of Science that will be relevant to the rapidly changing world around us and who will inspire both teachers and students. They will also be an excellent teacher practitioner, preferably able to teach one or more Science subjects at post-16 level. 

  What do we look for?

Due to KHDA regulations, we require our teachers to have one of the following:

· Bachelors of Education or PGCE and a degree in the subject area that you teach
