Brighton College, with its partner in the UAE, Bloom Education, is seeking an inspirational, charismatic and ambitious Head to lead Brighton College Abu Dhabi from January 2025 (although alternative start dates will be considered for the right candidate).

This is an exciting opportunity for a proven senior leader to shape the ongoing development of this 1,800 strong school and work as part of a talented and experienced team of Heads across the family of Brighton College schools. The successful candidate will combine a track record of highly successful leadership experience, developed in the UK or internationally, with the cultural awareness and global perspective to inspire the entire College community and manage diverse stakeholder relationships. The ability to demonstrate prior leadership experience of working in the Middle East would be advantageous.

We are looking to appoint a Head with the energy and vision to lead this world-class academic institution, distinctive in its own right but with the Brighton College DNA running right through it. First class communication skills with the gravitas to act as a visible leader and ambassador are crucial, as is the commercial drive to build upon the school’s success.

Brighton College Abu Dhabi is one of three Brighton College schools in the UAE; the three Heads work closely together, and also with Brighton College’s partner in the UAE, Bloom Education. Brighton and Bloom Education have enjoyed a strong and fruitful partnership for more than a decade. The Head of Brighton College Abu Dhabi works with the General Manager of Bloom Education on matters of strategy, finance, external relations and local market conditions. The school is regulated by the Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) and Bloom Education plays a vital role in managing this relationship effectively. The Head of Brighton College Abu Dhabi is accountable to a Board of Governors comprising representatives of Brighton College UK, Bloom Holdings and Bloom Education. The Governors meet termly, and the Head reports on the delivery of a first-class education, excellent pastoral provision and a school culture that is identifiably that of Brighton College.

This opportunity represents a career-defining, professional challenge for an educational leader who shares our aim of developing well-educated, respectful and intellectually curious young men and women ready to take a full, active and positive role in the world.
