Highfield is an inclusive primary school where learning is a journey for life. The three core values that all children at Highfield learn are respect, co­operation and kindness. The number of children in this 3-form entry school will be 690 from September 2019. We are lucky to have a special school site, including extensive field space and outdoor facilities.

We want to appoint a dynamic, ambitious and inspirational Headteacher who will embrace our values and build upon the achievements of this school, rated by Ofsted as Outstanding in 2016.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to communicate the school's vision to pupils, parents and staff
  • A passion to improve teaching and learning so all pupils are able to reach their full potential
  • The ability to lead others through complexity and ambiguity and adapt to an ever-changing educational world
  • Excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence and resilience
  • Capability and commitment to lead the development and delivery of a strategy to maintain our strong inclusive ethos and caring environment
  • Evident capacity to manage the financial and human resources effectively and efficiently to achieve the school's goals
  • Ability to be a leader of learning as a practitioner who will promote a positive attitude in staff and pupils
