Do you want to work in a team that makes a difference to young people? This role is ideal for someone who wants to work with young people or for someone who would like to embark on various related careers, including teaching at either secondary or primary level, educational psychology, charity work, social work and numerous others. Many of our previous post holders have utilised the post to develop experience in the education sector before progressing to PGCE courses, educational psychology courses and working with educational charities. 

The successful candidate will work alongside and under the guidance of the SRP Lead and will be required to support small groups and deliver specialist interventions. This exciting and rewarding role requires someone who is patient, flexible, adaptable, a team player and who is also able to show initiative, both in the class situation and with groups/individuals. Opportunities abound for professional development, including training in specific aspects of SEND such as speech, language and communication needs, deafness, selective mutism, working memory and more.

Coombe Boys’ School is an over subscribed, single-sex, multi-ethnic, secondary school which shares a sixth form with its sister school, Coombe Girls’ School. The school is part of the Coombe Academy Trust which incorporates two secondary and three primary schools. Many aspects of the successful candidate’s work will involve working in partnership with the other schools which presents many opportunities to develop professional experience and skills.

Coombe Boys’ School is a comprehensive secondary school offering a broad and balanced curriculum to local boys aged 11-16. We also have a mixed sixth form run in close collaboration with Coombe Girls’ School.  There are approximately 1100 students on roll including the sixth form.  The school has held academy status since 2012, as part of the Coombe Academy Trust (CAT) which also incorporates Coombe Girls’ School, Knollmead Primary School, Green Lane Primary & Nursery School, and Robin Hood Primary & Nursery School.  The school is based in New Malden close to the A3 and with Motspur Park station within 8 minutes walking distance.
