We are seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher of History who is dynamic, enthusiastic and ambitious. The successful applicant will be an outstanding classroom practitioner who is passionate about inspiring our students. You will be a team player who works collaboratively with colleagues and is keen to be involved in all aspects of the department. The ability to teach Geography or PRS (RE) would be an advantage but not essential. 

The History department consists of five History specialists (some part time) who all teach across the age and ability range. We are an experienced and committed department who have a high take up at GCSE and A Level and who get excellent results 

The successful applicant will be:

  • Very well qualified to deliver KS3, GCSE and A level History
  • An excellent communicator who is able to meet deadlines
  • A reflective practitioner who is willing to take an active role in the extracurricular life of the department and the wider life of the school
  • A strong team player with a "can do" attitude
  • Passionate about the success of students, the department and the school

Tring School is popular and over-subscribed, serving the town of Tring and the surrounding villages. It is a mixed Church of England all-ability school, 1500 on roll, over 300 Post-16. Academic attainment is well above average and improving year on year. The school strives to support and encourage individual growth within a caring community. We have a talented team of staff who are ambitious to become outstanding in all areas of our work. Ofsted Inspection November 2017 stated: ‘Pupils are highly motivated to learn.' ‘Teaching is good overall with outstanding features.’
