Job description:

Are you a passionate, resilient, and engaging educator with a love for Humanities and a belief in the power of education to change lives?

Teenage Kicks, a specialist independent school for pupils with EHCPs and diverse learning needs, is looking for an inspiring full-time Humanities Teacher to join our team from September 2026.

This is not your average teaching role. Our Humanities provision is designed to help young people better understand the world around them, develop critical thinking skills, and build confidence through meaningful and engaging learning experiences. You will teach small groups of pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 in subjects including History, Geography, and Religious Studies.

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver engaging Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Teach a range of subjects including History, Geography, and Religious Studies

  • Adapt lessons to support students with SEMH needs and EHCP outcomes

  • Encourage discussion, critical thinking, and curiosity about the wider world

  • Foster a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Contribute to our inclusive, trauma-informed school culture

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) desirable, but not essential

  • Experience teaching Humanities subjects at secondary level

  • Ability to engage and motivate pupils with diverse learning needs

  • A calm, relational approach to behaviour and classroom management

  • Creativity, resilience, and a genuine belief in second chances

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and collaborative team environment

  • Small class sizes and a relationship-based approach to learning

  • A meaningful opportunity to make a difference every single day

  • Access to CPD and professional development tailored to specialist provision

  • Term-time working only (plus 5 INSET days)

Teenage Kicks is a registered independent school committed to the safeguarding of children and young people. All offers of employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

ECTs welcome.
