It is an exciting time for Alternative Provision in East Sussex as we embark on a collaborative journey of systemic transformation and improvement.
Working in partnership with East Sussex County Council and London South East Academies Trust (LSEAT), SABDEN Multi Academy Trust is seeking committed, dynamic and talented staff to join its team at College Central – which will become East Sussex Academy (part of LSEAT) later this year.
Our school provides education for 4–16-year-olds who have been excluded from mainstream settings across the county. Demand for this provision has increased dramatically since the pandemic, creating many challenges and resulting in a need for the school to significantly improve.
To secure a successful future for staff and pupils, a transfer process is now underway – with the incoming Trust (LSEAT) working closely with us to ensure a smooth transition.
This will include relocating the school to improved, purposeful buildings within the area, which are better suited to the needs of pupils. We are also focused on expanding and strengthening our staff teams across the school.
We are seeking an engaging and inspirational teacher of science, to join us at this exciting time. We would welcome applications from all specialisms, with the ability to adapt to teaching science to pupils who have difficulties accessing mainstream styles of teaching. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ensuring all pupils make progress and succeed, developing enjoyment in reading, writing and communication along the way.
You will be an effective and enthusiastic practitioner who is passionate, highly organised and can motivate and engage learners at all levels. A proven ability to work with challenging students and a flexible, resilient ‘can do’ attitude are essential. The successful candidate will also contribute to the overall quality of education at our school.
If successful, you will be employed initially by SABDEN Multi Academy Trust and then transfer via TUPE to London South East Academies Trust later this year, when the school becomes East Sussex Academy.
You will be ambitious and aspirational for your pupils, with drive and determination to improve outcomes for all. In return, you will be joining a hardworking team that is committed to successful change and transformation; with a shared vision of improving lives through the power of learning.
