Tes is supporting the appointment of a KS3 Maths Lead to join a Academy based in Birmingham.

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands

Salary: MPS (£30,570 - £42,365)/UPS (£45,002- £48,390), plus TLR 2b (£5,350) depending on experience

Start date: September 2024

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time

About the role:

As Curriculum Lead of Maths, you will take responsibility for raising attainment of the subject at Key Stage 3. You will design an engaging and challenging curriculum that inspires children to appreciate Maths and its application. To Lead on KS3 intervention and GCSE’s outcomes.

You will also demonstrate high quality teaching that ensures all students achieve results in line with, or better than, key stage and other value-added predictions.

You will be a fantastic motivator and will inspire students to achieve and exceed grades. You will be aligned to Academy’s high aspirations and expectations for pupils and staff and have demonstrable evidence of improving outcomes.

  • Staff wellbeing is one of their main priorities. They provide breakfast for staff each morning, soup for lunch and lunch for those on duty. They have parking available, a gym on site and a well-equipped staff room including a pool table.
  • Their systems and processes for communication, marking and feedback and assessment are streamlined and the approaches they take are research led and based on the needs of their local context. For instance, at present they do not use traditional book marking across the school.
  • On Fridays, children finish at 1.20pm, giving time and space for professional development amongst staff.
  • Staff voice is important to them; they like to listen to their staff. They are always seeking feedback and input from their staff
