ROLE SUMMARY:

 

As King’s InterHigh continues to expand its reach globally, we are in search of dedicated and innovative Primary Specialist Teachers. This role is ideal for those proficient in teaching English, Maths, Science, and Humanities to students in Years 3 to 6 (KS2). 

Role Overview:

 

  • Position: Primary Specialist Leader of Learning (Class Teacher)
  • Location: Remote, based in the UK

  • Start Date: 19th August 20024 in preparation for the September teaching schedule
  • Salary: £34,500 - £40,950 per annum.

 

Contract: Full-time, Permanent. The role encompasses 39 working weeks per year, including 35 weeks of teaching and 4 weeks allocated for course development, marking, and other academic duties. Staff enjoy scheduled holidays, with the assurance of a balanced work-life integration.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards, incorporating engaging and effective instructional materials and activities tailored to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Evaluate students' comprehension and progress, providing constructive feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment, promoting positive behaviour and student engagement while effectively managing classroom dynamics and addressing disciplinary issues.
  • Support students' academic and emotional development, identifying those needing extra assistance or accommodations, motivating students, and cultivating a supportive classroom community.
  • Guide students in setting and achieving personal and academic goals.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians, keeping them informed of their child's progress, conducting parent-teacher meetings, and involving them in the educational process.
  • Stay abreast of the latest educational research, teaching strategies, and technological tools through ongoing professional development.
  • Handle various administrative tasks, including maintaining student records, preparing reports, attending staff meetings, and collaborating with colleagues on school-wide initiatives or projects.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that respects and celebrates diversity, incorporates diverse perspectives into the curriculum, and addresses biases to ensure all students feel valued and included.
  • Inspire students with a love for learning, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a desire for self-improvement.
  • Be prepared to respond to crises or emergencies, offering support and guidance to students during challenging times.
  • Demonstrate dedication, adaptability, and a deep commitment to the holistic growth of every student.

Inspired Online Schools, part of the Inspired Education Group, use state-of-the-art digital technology and operates two established divisions – King's InterHigh, a non-selective fee-paying online secondary school, established in 2005 and a B2B division including Academy 21, serving other educational providers, schools, local authorities and other public bodies.

Our successful candidates will join a talented team providing excellent online educational experiences for our students whose ages range between 8 and 18. The successful candidates will demonstrate expertise and experience of delivering their subject specialism/s and come from either a state school and/or independent school background. Passionate about ensuring the students are at the centre of learning, the successful candidate will be used to deadlines, have experience of creating effective learning resources and having a key focus on the academic monitoring and progress of the students.

About our Roles

Here at King's InterHigh and Academy21, our Leaders of Learning (Remote Teacher) contracts do differ from mainstream schools due to the nature of our business and ways of operating. As a Leader of Learning (Remote Teacher) you will be contracted to 42 weeks of the year, up to 38 of these weeks are contact weeks with the students, with the remaining weeks being available for additional activity such as course writing.

You will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. During the school day there are allocated breaks in the morning, lunch time and in the afternoon, with breaks in between each lesson also.

Our lessons are 40 minutes long which ensures the time spent in the classroom is value added and effective. A full time Leader of Learning could be given a timetable with up to 33 lessons, equating to 22 hours of contact time.

As a business and a school, we do not follow the Teachers Mainstream Payscale, we operate in line with our own salary bandings. Further information specifically for each role will be available via the job adverts.
