Job overview
Durham High School are seeking a suitably qualified and enthusiastic, Learning Support Assistant (SEND) to support a Year 10 pupil in Senior Department on a one to one basis in main stream education. Support may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching areas.
The role is required 4 days per week (days negotiable) term time only, plus attendance at 5 INSET days. Salary will be paid on Durham High salary scale, at £25,936.49 FTE (actual rate is £15,474.11 pa).
The SEND Department is led by the SENDCO and we have two LSAs attached to individual pupils.
The closing date for applications is 9am on Tuesday 4 June 2024.
Interviews will be held shortly after this date.
Start date will be discussed at interview but latest will be 1 September 2024
Flexibility is very important as there may be changes due to the changing priorities of the EHCP. The hours and days of work will also change when the pupil’s timetable changes during the next academic year.
As this relates to support for an individual pupil, the position will terminate in and when the pupil leaves the school.
