Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a Nursery Manager to join our team at Penbridge School based at the Infants site.

We are a 24 place nursery for children aged 2-4 years. Our sessions run as morning sessions from 8:30-11:30am or afternoon sessions from 12-3pm with some of the children staying for lunch.

As the Nursery Manager you will deliver and ensure a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 2-4 years whilst ensuring the nursery is safe environment for children to learn. As well as managing the day to day activities of the nursery including; record keeping, management reports and budgets.

We are a ‘Thinking’ nursery. We provide hands on engaging experiences that stimulate children’s senses so that the brain develops. As part of the Thinking Schools Academy Trust, our ‘curiosity’ curriculum is planned by staff who understand the next stage of education and are committed to laying the very best foundations during the early years for their all-through thinking journey. We use children’s interests to develop learning opportunities.

What you will need to succeed:

  • A minimum of at least 2 years’ experience working in a nursery/preschool, ideally as a room leader or manager
  • Excellent knowledge of the Early Years curriculum and proven track record of planning, tracking and monitoring children’s learning and developmental milestones
  • Experience of line management, rotas and managing budgets effectively
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Child Care and Education or equivalent
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • English & Maths GCSE Grade 4/C or above/or equivalent
  • Nurturing nature with a passion to make a difference in young children’s’ care and education
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to be able to relate to a wide range of people including children, staff, parents and external professionals

 

About Us

Formally known as Penhale Infant School and Newbridge Junior School, we officially joined together in September 2022 to form Penbridge Infants and Junior School. The Infants site comprises of a nursery with 24 places for funded 2-4 year olds and a 2-form entry Infant school with 180 children on the roll including 24 in our Rainbow Fish Inclusion Unit. The Juniors site comprises of a 4-form entry school with 440 children on the roll.
