Salary: Meridian Trust Pay Scale/UPS with SEN allowance. FTE £30,000-£46,525 plus £2539

Hours of work: 100% of 1265 teacher working hours per year.

 

Due to expansion and growth of the school we have an exciting opportunity for a new SEND Class Teacher to join our fantastic Secondary team. Our school is expanding to incorporate a 6th form, SEND satellite and additional early years/primary provision with the imminent growth of the Northstowe Learning Community.

We are looking for a passionate, skilled and hardworking Class Teacher to join us at Martin Bacon Academy from September 2024. We are seeking candidates with either Primary or Secondary experience in SEND, experience in leading Science or those starting their teaching career with a specialism in this area.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience teaching and leading Science with young people aged 3-19
  • Commitment to and evidence of continuous improvement and one’s own professional development.
  • Excellent track record of pupil outcomes
  • Be a team player, with a ‘can do’ solution focused attitude
  • Possess outstanding communication skills and personal integrity
  • The interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, pupils, parents and others.

Martin Bacon Academy is a state of the art, Area Special School, in the heart of the Northstowe Learning Community. We cater for children and young people aged 3 to 19 who have a range of complex and significant learning needs in the area of cognition and learning (with other co-occurring conditions). This covers a wide range of needs including learners with autistic spectrum condition and those with complex physical and sensory impairments. We have places for 130 children and young people with an additional 40 in our upcoming satellite provision. All our pupils have access to an exciting, balanced education which will be appropriately paced and designed to meet their individual education needs.
