We are seeking to appoint a qualified SENDCo - or aspiring SENDCo who is ready to undertake the NPQSENCO qualification - to be deployed to undertake the SENDCo role where individual primary academies lack the capacity for leadership of SEND. This role is full time with a 0.5 FTE teaching commitment in the school to which they are deployed.

  • Is creative, innovative, and an effective communicator
  • Is committed to their own professional development and reflective in their practice
  • Demonstrates high standards in themselves, their work, and their expectations of others
  • Is a qualified and experienced SENDCo – or aspiring SENDCo - who is able to develop high-quality SEND provision
  • Has the ability to inspire trust, confidence, and respect from pupils, staff, and the community.

What we offer:

  • The opportunity to be based outside the classroom for 50% of your working time
  • The chance to make a real difference to our Sheffield primaries
  • A hardworking, experienced team committed to promoting high achievement
  • Supportive and effective leadership
  • Access to the Teacher Pension Scheme and our Employee Assistance Programme
  • Continued professional development and training opportunities.

We are dedicated to fostering a more diverse and inclusive organisation, as we believe it is crucial for our future success. Our commitment is rooted in a strong set of shared values, namely scholarship, curiosity, and tenacity. These values not only shape our culture but also reflect our vision and what we hold dear as Astrea.

Astrea Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts are subject to satisfactory background checks including references and enhanced DBS checks.
