Job overview

Astrea Academy Sheffield - Primary are looking for an experienced Class Teacher to join their team of a fixed-term (maternity cover) basis.

We are looking for a talented, knowledgeable, and committed team member who can demonstrate high aspirations for all our children along with the enthusiasm and resilience to support all aspects of a child’s education. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a supportive, professional learning community that seeks excellence and play a key part in the next step of our journey.

About Us:

We believe strongly in building our children’s aspirations and helping them to become confident learners so they can build on their successes each year and achieve their full potential. We use the Astrea Values; tenacity, scholarship and curiosity to help build children’s life skills and prepare them fully for secondary school. This is complemented by two specific school values of respect and responsibility.

All staff are committed to providing the very best for all children. Teamwork is a strong part of our ethos, with a supportive and nurturing staff and a culture of continual improvement in all that we do. We are an inclusive school and work hard to ensure all our children are well supported in making progress appropriate to their needs.

Those we recruit should demonstrate that they share our values, have the child at the centre of everything they do, are highly motivated to work with colleagues to continuously develop their skills, pursue professional excellence and are committed to providing the highest standards consistently. If you feel that you can support our ethos, we would be delighted to receive your application.

What we can offer you:

  • Amazing children who love learning and are increasingly eager to achieve
  • A commitment to your wellbeing and work-life balance: a knowledge-rich curriculum ready to adapt, a compassionate approach to leave of absence, free access to our health and mental wellbeing app ‘Wisdom’, regular, staff social events
  • A positive culture where everyone is valued and respected
  • A supportive team of staff and SLT and opportunities to work together to improve practice and outcomes for children
  • An opportunity to be part of a school with a drive to be at the cutting edge of practice
  • A belief that happy teachers fulfil their potential.
  • Access to the Teacher Pension Scheme
