The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic educator to be Second in Sixth Form and to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support, assist, and deputise for the Head of Sixth Form on a range of matters, including Data Analysis, ensuring the strategic leadership and upholding of our core values within the Sixth Form.


Some of the Key Responsibilities include:

Leadership and Management:

  • Deputise for the Head of Sixth Form in their absence.
  • Contribute to the strategic leadership and development of the Sixth Form.
  • Monitor and support student wellbeing, attendance, and commitment to their studies.
  • Oversee the progression data for all students and provide individual and group mentoring and target setting.
  • Lead and support the Sixth Form team, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach.


Student Support:

  • Provide academic and pastoral guidance to students, including mentoring and supporting independent learning.
  • Lead on the Sixth Form Horizons and Horizons Scholars programmes.
  • Oversee the UCAS application process and support students with Post-18 applications, including Russell Group and Oxbridge pathways.
  • Provide Careers Information, Advice, and Guidance (CIAG) alongside the Careers and Employability Manager.


Parental and Staff Engagement:

  • Liaise with parents/carers, subject teachers, and tutors to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Offer guidance, support, and encouragement to Sixth Form staff and lead CPD sessions.


Event Coordination:

  • Assist in organising and running Sixth Form events, including consultative and promotional events, curriculum pathways, open evenings, and results days.
  • Support the transition from KS4 to KS5 and from Year 12 to Year 13.


KS5 Coordination:

  • Develop, monitor, review, and report on policies, action plans, and practices.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to staff, ensuring the highest standards of pupil achievement across KS5.
  • Lead assemblies and provide academic and pastoral support to students.
