We're in search of a vibrant and seasoned Geography Teacher to join our secondary school in August 2024. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enrich the Geography curriculum.
  • Incorporate global perspectives and diverse teaching methodologies to meet the needs of our multicultural student body.
  • Design and execute engaging geography lessons tailored to different learning preferences and capabilities.
  • Utilize technology and supplementary teaching materials to enrich the learning journey.
  • Offer timely and constructive feedback to students and guardians regarding academic progress.
  • Cultivate a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that fosters a passion for learning and celebrates diversity.
  • Effectively manage student behavior in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of the latest trends and methodologies in English education.
  • Collaborate with peers and participate in professional development opportunities such as workshops and conferences.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians concerning student advancement and academic expectations.
  • Work alongside fellow educators and school staff to ensure a cohesive and integrated educational approach.
  • Supervise or engage in extracurricular activities related to English or other areas of interest.
  • Contribute to the broader school community by participating in committees and events.
  • Uphold professional ethics and standards, demonstrating confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate a dedication to continual learning and personal and professional development.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in geography, or a related field.
  • A recognized teaching certification.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive connections with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in developing and contributing to the creation of geography curricular materials.
  • Ability to work autonomously while also being an effective team member.
  • Capability to design and oversee intervention programs to support struggling students.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Experience in teaching the IB Diploma Geography course is a real advantage
