Description | St Dominic’s is a K-10 Special Education School and we are seeking a Secondary Teacher who will be responsible for delivering a Life Skills curriculum to Stage 4 and 5 students with developmental disabilities. In additional they will develop and implement personalized plans under a case management model. The Secondary Teacher is responsible to the Principal. | |
Position Requirements | • Demonstrates a commitment and capacity to actively contribute to a broad range of school activities as a member of the school team.
• Ability to implement and respond to Critical incidents using MAPA. (Management of Actual & Potential Aggression.) • Demonstrates experience teaching students with development disabilities Year 7-10, inclusive of assessment processes, and reporting requirements to improve learning and teaching programs. • Demonstrates capacity to develop, implement and review personalized individual plans for students with development disabilities. • Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and parents. |

Essential Criteria | • A relevant understanding of the philosophy at Catholic Education.
• Applicants will need to comply with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead - formerly the Faith Education Accreditation (FEA) Policy 2012 and will need to work towards Accreditation at Category B – Accreditation to Teach. • Current NESA and Working With Children number must be recorded on application. • Be appropriately qualified as a four year trained teacher • Qualifications in Special Education and experience teaching students with developmental disabilities. • Evidence of completion of Anaphylaxis training certificate must be supplied. (https://etraining.allergy.org.au/login/index.php). Note: To start or return to working as a teacher in a NSW school, you must be accredited by NESA. |
