Salary: Leadership Scale L5 – L9: £47,251 - £52,160 per annum

Start date: April 2023

Contract: Permanent, full time 


Goodwin Academy are seeking a SENCO to join their vibrant and engaging, state of the art mixed academy based in the heart of Deal. 

 

The SENCO will determine the strategic development of the SEND policy and provision within the school, working alongside the SLT and staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for SEND students. They will be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability, providing professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies

What you’ll need to succeed:  

  • Be a qualified Teacher
  • Have a thorough knowledge of present developments, particularly those relating to SEND strategy and provision
  • Be able to support and advise all stakeholders in regards to SEND provision ensuring the needs of the students are met.
  • Be the Designated Teacher for Looked After and previously Looked After Children
  • High expectations for yourself and the children to ensure that all of our children achieve their very best
  • An aspiring leader of learning and happy to grasp exciting CPD opportunities 
  • Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of our schools
  • Passionate about teaching and learning and have a positive outlook and excellent interpersonal skills
