We are pleased to announce the opening of GEMS Founders School in Abu Dhabi in Masdar City’s sustainable urban community. With sustainability at its core, GFA has been designed as a groundbreaking net-zero campus. Purpose-built using cutting-edge materials and incorporating clever architectural elements, the school will demonstrate the highest standards in eco-friendly practices to substantially lower its carbon footprint, conserve resources, and minimize waste.

Offering the National Curriculum for England, initially to students from FS1 to Year 8, GFA will redefine sustainability standards in education. It reflects GEMS’ commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious global citizens and contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.


We are looking for an experienced SENCo for our brand-new school opening in September 2024 in Abu Dhabi.

Applicants should be:

• A fully certified teacher, holding a Master's/ Bachelor's degree in Special Education

• Passionate about providing outstanding teaching and learning

• A creative and enthusiastic approach both in and out of the classroom

• Excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills to work closely with students and parents

Collaborate with classroom teachers to design and implement inclusive strategies that meet the diverse learning needs of students with SEN.

Responsibilities:

- Provide differentiated instruction and support to individuals or small groups of students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

- Conduct assessments to identify students with SEN and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SEN team and parents.

- Work closely with parents, teachers, and external specialists to create a collaborative support network for students with SEN.

- Implement evidence-based interventions and accommodations to address diverse learning needs.

- Stay updated on best practices, research, and advancements in the field of special education and inclusion.

- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that celebrates diversity and promotes a sense of belonging for all students.
