We are looking for two experienced Primary School Teachers to join our school to lead on SEND provision and provide specialist teaching, intervention and support to target the specific needs of learners, ensuring they are KS3 ready. You will work with pupils on individual targets in reading, writing and maths to develop their key skills in these areas. The successful applicant should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be a qualified teacher with previous experience of working in a primary setting for at least 3 years. You will understand the demands of pupils with a wide range of special needs and disabilities and have proven management skills and experience of working with SEND students. This is an ideal role for a teacher looking for a transition role into secondary setting. We are seeking to appoint a teacher who has:

 

  • Outstanding classroom practice or ambition to gain SEN experience and has the potential to develop this and teach EHCP pupils in small groups covering English, Phonics, Maths and Numeracy, Geography and History
  • The desire to develop professionally
  • A good academic background
  • Previous experience of teaching across KS1 and KS2

 

As part of the role you will develop and deliver interventions working alongside Higher Level Teaching Assistants to deliver support. These are new posts created within our school to support the high level and range of SEND learners needs, including learners not being KS3 ready, to ensure the best possible outcomes for EHCP and SEND pupils and monitoring and tracking targets for all within this cohort.

The school has excellent resources and a stunning, spacious site on the edge of Epping Forest including a staff car park and surrounding roads that do not require a parking permit.  We are also a 15 minute walk from Chingford Station which has great links into the City. Staff are friendly and events take place out of school, such as the Three Peaks Challenge, planned for this summer.
