Actual Salary from: £12,453 – £13,332 (Points 13-17)

This post is: 20 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term Time, plus non-pupil days)

The Role

We are seeking an outstanding individual to assist the CASA Manager, as part of a professional team, to support the progress of students with high needs, particularly those with SEMH, attending a bespoke on-site provision. This will involve 1:1 and small group work as well as providing outreach support within the school and in other locations.

 

 

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • To work with individuals and groups of students, under the direction of the CASA Manager, including the provision of alternative curriculum pathways in order to raise achievement for high needs students and promote inclusion.
  • To maintain high expectations for all learners working within CASA, encouraging students to work cooperatively and collaboratively, building resilience and developing social communication and interaction skills.
  • Organise and manage an appropriate learning environment and ensure that specialist resources and advice is available and effective, liaising with and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues.

  • Experience of working with children in a similar position
  • Experience of leading a team
  • Is adaptable, receptive to new ideas and willing to adjust to new demands and circumstances
  • Understands and follows the schools policies on health and safety and risk management

Harwich and Dovercourt High School (HDHS) is a popular, mixed 11-18 comprehensive situated on the north-east Essex coast.
