Position Information 

Fort Street Public School (K-6), established in 1842 as the Model School for exemplary education, is an inner-city school in Sydney's historic Rocks area, has an enrolment of 290 students, 83% from a Language Background Other Than English. Fort Street has a strong focus on Explicit Teaching, differentiated learning and the provision of a range of extracurricular opportunities in a nurturing and inclusive environment. The school is proud of its cultural diversity and its focus on the core values of Respect, Responsibility, Excellence, Integrity and Care. The school is supported by an engaged and involved Parent and Citizen's Association as well as broader community support. This position will involve a professional commitment to collaborative teaching and planning and practices within a stage-based learning hub environment and willingness to lead or co-ordinate whole school initiatives, including extracurricular activities. The recent rebuild project has allowed student capacity for up to 550 students in addition to providing world class, future focused facilities. 

  
Specific Selection Criteria 

Approval to teach Infants and Primary (K-6). Demonstrated excellence in classroom teaching practice with an emphasis on literacy and numeracy programs. Demonstrated capacity to implement information and technology into innovative teaching and learning. Ability to work collaboratively in a team for teaching, planning and assessing. Demonstrated ability to differentiate lesson strategies, that are responsive to the learning needs and strengths of English as an Additional Learning and Dialect students. 

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
