We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and dynamic teacher or instructor to join our successful Design and Technology Faculty, someone with energy and innovation with a passion for Food Technology and the learning experience. Those individuals who have experience in catering/cookery may also apply as unqualified teachers.

The successful candidate will be asked to teach across the ability and age range, supporting the development of Food Technology to a high standard for all students.

The successful candidate will: 

·    Be an outstanding teacher or someone with experience in this field who can learn the required curriculum.

·    Raise achievement through high quality teaching and learning in Technology.

·    Be passionate about the industry of Food and Nutrition

·    Be an enthusiastic professional committed to providing our students with an outstanding education.

Helena Romanes is a thriving, all-through school for children aged 4-18, situated in the beautiful North Essex countryside. It has good communications to London and the South East, and it is approximately 7 miles from Stansted Airport. We are an inclusive school where every student is valued and has the opportunity to shine.

This is an exciting time to join the school:

• In September 2021, the school opened a Primary phase, with children in Reception and Key Stage 1. Together with the expansion of the Sixth Form, the school will grow to become an all-through school of 2000 pupils from ages 4 to 18.

• It is planned that the school will relocate to a world-class, purpose built site, close to our current location in Dunmow, in September 2025.

• Helena Romanes has made excellent progress with the support of Saffron Academy Trust towards being judged by Ofsted as a Good school. Working with the talented senior leadership team that is in place across all phases of the school, and drawing on the commitment from staff to provide the best possible outcomes for the pupils.

We are a mixed 4 – 18 Academy with over 1200 pupils on roll. The school is situated in beautiful countryside, occupying approximately 35 acres just to the north of Great Dunmow.

The school was established in 1958 and is named in honour of the first Chair of Governors.

At Helena Romanes, we are ambitious for our pupils and we offer them a rich and varied curriculum. Our pupils develop the skills, knowledge and understanding that enables them to move successfully into higher education, apprenticeships, training or employment.
