Tes is supporting the appointment of a Teacher of Biology + Allowance for Lead of excellence in STEM to join a College based in North Lincolnshire.

1FTE Permanent

The college currently offers A Level Biology, and, in the department, they have a wide range of courses: Chemistry, Electronics, Engineering, and Physics. They have 2 technicians to support the science team and the department is located in the science block sharing with the Allied Health Department. Their Allied Health department is expanding, and this is one of their new courses they are introducing. They have invested £750,000 in their complete remodel of the Allied Health department to include a Clinical Health Suite with state of the art technology. Here at JLC they pride themselves on offering their students an array of opportunities, in addition to their curriculum offer, to boost their cultural capital and wider skillset as well as being passionate about preparing their students for life after college.

As part of this expanding department this new role has been introduced to champion and lead the STEM provision within the college. It will be to support their students progression in medicine, veterinary and dentistry. They are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and committed person to join their award-winning College. The role will be to Teach Biology to Year 1 and Year 2 students at A Level.

The role will suit someone: Who is dedicated and passionate for the subject, can consistently deliver high value-added results and inspire students and can drive and motivate students, delivering outstanding outcomes.

Salary: Teacher PT 1-9 (£30,500-£47,133) Suitable for Early Career Teaching, depending on qualifications and experience.

Allowance for Lead of Excellence in STEM and STEM Progression £5,000pa
