Job overview

Required for September 2024, an enthusiastic Drama Teacher to teach across key stages 3, 4 and 5. The opportunity to teach more widely across performing arts and music, may also be possible for the right candidate.  


Drama, Dance and Performing Arts is staffed with specialists in its own dedicated suite of rooms including drama and dance studios. At Key Stage 5, we offer the BTEC National Extended Certificate in Performing Arts and AQA A level drama and at Key Stage 4, AQA GCSE Drama, BTEC Performing Arts and BTEC Dance. All students in Key Stage 3 have drama once a week, with Performing Arts and Dance offered in Year 7 and 9 as part of our Super Curricular program. 


Sackville School is a popular and oversubscribed large, mixed, 11-18 comprehensive with 1700 students on roll. We are looking for someone with the skills, enthusiasm, and ambition to join our team and to achieve our ambitious aims for all of our students.

Sackville School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form, situated in East Grinstead, West Sussex. There are approximately 1700 students at the school between 11-18 years.

Sackville School was founded in 1857 and has been on its current site since 1964.

“The behaviour of pupils is good. In the great majority of lessons, students’ behaviour is exemplary and they work very sensibly in pairs or groups and study hard. The good curriculum offers all students the chance to succeed with adapted subject options for low attainers and some students with special educational needs. Visits to a Forest School are very successful for those who find mainstream lessons difficult. Others benefit from extra time spent on English and mathematics or, in Year 10, a work-related programme. The latter reflects the school’s strong promotion of equality of opportunity and its firm anti-discrimination stance”.
