Job overview

Teacher of Food and Nutrition

Permanent / Part-time or full-time (0.5 FTE or upwards)

Start Date – 1st September 2024

Salary: MPS/UPS (£30,000 - £46,525) – subject to 2024 pay award (pro-rota dependent on FTE).

About the role:

We are looking to appoint a teacher of food and nutrition to join our forward-thinking and innovative design and technology faculty. As part of our commitment to flexible working, we are looking for applicants who may be seeking part-time employment (minimum of 0.5 FTE), but equally will consider candidates who are interested in full-time employment or a different FTE. This can be discussed either prior to or at interview. This is a role suitable for those with or without experience. We have an excellent reputation for professional development and providing opportunities for people to progress their career.

Managing the well-being and workload of staff is something taken extremely seriously by the Principal, having taken steps to reduce unnecessary burdens and bureaucracy. These actions were rated highly in the most recent staff survey, which takes place on annual basis. Staff describe Hathershaw as “a great place to work”.

If you want to know more about the role, please contact Vicki Sainsbury, PA to the Principal, on vs@hathershaw.org.uk

We are happy for you to contact us to discuss anything or answer questions to find out more about our exciting department.

Hathershaw College

The Hathershaw College is a very successful and oversubscribed 11-16 Academy within the Pinnacle Learning Trust, which consists of ourselves, Oldham Sixth Form College, Werneth Primary School, Broadfield Primary School and Alexandra Park Junior School. We are also well located with good public transport links and excellent access to the motorway network.

You will see from our Ofsted report published in January 2022 that we have retained our good status. I would advise you to read the excellent report before applying. Key highlights from this include: “Pupils behave sensibly around the school and in lessons. They are respectful to other pupils, staff and visitors.” “Staff value the steps that leaders have taken to ease their workload and support their well-being.” Senior leaders have taken radical steps to manage the workload and well-being of colleagues by reducing unnecessary burdens and bureaucracy. These actions were rated highly in the most recent staff survey, which takes place on annual basis.

The Pinnacle Learning Trust

We celebrate students’ uniqueness and support our young people to flourish and become responsible, successful citizens who contribute positively to their communities. As a Trust, we celebrate diversity by encouraging an understanding of our communities, faiths and cultures.
