Job overview

Since its opening in 2003 as the second 11–19 school in the now six-strong Emmanuel Schools Foundation, The King’s Academy has made exceptional provision for students in south Middlesbrough. Our vision is for each person in our schools to be valued, challenged and inspired, being ‘made in God’s image’ and therefore infinitely precious, morally responsible and gifted for a purpose.

We require, for September 2024, a passionate and highly motivated Teacher of Girls' PE with the ability to teach PE at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, including GCSE and Level 3. Previous experience of teaching A-level PE is not a requirement but would be advantageous.

The PE department provides education to all students in Years 7 to 11 as part of our ‘core PE’ programme. Students can begin to study PE in more depth from Year 9, with GCSE and vocational routes being offered in Key Stage 4. At sixth form, A-level Physical Education is offered, as well as the department contributing to the wider enrichment programme in the sixth form. The department has a strong extracurricular emphasis, with sporting teams running across the school in a range of sports (netball, hockey, football, rugby, cross country), with students also engaging in a range of other sporting opportunities as they arise.

If you believe you have the vision and commitment to work in a highly inclusive school which seeks to raise achievement, setting consistently high standards for yourself and your students, please do contact us.

To arrange an informal visit or call, please email recruitment@thekingsacademy.org.uk or call 01642 577577.
