Welcome to Bowland High School

Due to the expansion of the school, an opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and creative history teacher to join the current history team and also to contribute to the teaching of geography at KS3. The school puts a high priority on the humanities and pupils are able to thrive not just through lessons and academic achievement but also the fantastic extra curricular and enrichment opportunities that this team and the school as a whole provide.

The successful candidate will work in a fantastic school amongst a team of dedicated staff and with pupils who are keen and ready to learn. In our Ofsted inspection in December 2022 we were judged to be good in all areas and the inspectors pointed out:

‘Pupils at Bowland High enjoy coming to school…The positive relationships that teachers have fostered with pupils mean that they know who to turn to if they have concerns or any worries. This makes pupils feel happy and safe in school. …Pupils behave well in lessons and are eager to work hard.’

If you want to work in a school where investment in staff development is strong, where pupils are encouraged to be polite and respectful and in a location of outstanding natural beauty then this could be the job for you. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join a strong and developing team dedicated to the support and nurture of pupils throughout their 5 years of the school and beyond.
