Job overview
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and ambitious teacher to teach Maths and to take on some key responsibilities within the department at St Andrew’s. The Maths department is very strong with a team of thirteen excellent specialist teachers supported by an intern. Students at St Andrew’s really enjoy their Maths lessons and the results at GCSE are very strong with progress in the top 10% nationally for each of the past 6 years. In 2023, 97% of the students achieved 4+ at GCSE and well over 50% achieved 7+. Maths is our most popular A Level with well over half the students studying it in the Sixth Form and the results are consistently very strong in both Maths and Further Maths. This is a great opportunity to join a very strong and dynamic department which has excellent staff. The position would suit someone with a couple of years experience looking to lead a key stage or a more experienced teacher looking to take on greater leadership responsibility supporting others within the department.

St Andrew’s Catholic School is a mixed, comprehensive, Roman Catholic secondary school with sixth form situated in Leatherhead, Surrey. It is a community state school which has strong links to local churches and falls under the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton. The school provides 1290 places for secondary and sixth form students between the ages of 11-18.
A school that consists of three buildings, the central school building dates back to the 1950s, while its new building opened in 2018.
