Job overview

Swans International School would like to appoint a Teacher of Music from September 2024

Candidates should be positive, forward-thinking classroom practitioners who have the ability to motivate students in the performing arts. The candidate should have experience teaching to (I)GCSE level (Edexcel board ideally) but IB/A Level experience would be welcomed.

We are looking for a dynamic candidate to join a department with practical performance at its core. A big feature of the school is student bands across year groups, with our Battle of the Bands as a very popular event, so experience of drums, guitars and keys would be an advantage.

We are looking for a team player to bring their own ideas and experience to work with the Head of Department and is willing to collaborate on projects such as our annual school show, which has been a great success and involves students from across the school. For further information about the Swans Music department, please contact Tim Pritchard at tpritchard@swansschool.net for an informal chat.

The role may include a second subject, so candidates should clearly state their experience in other departments and this will be considered after interview.

email rmaldonado@swansschool.net

The school is well-resourced with small class sizes and all staff members are given a Macbook to work on, with all classrooms set up with Apple TVs.

Requirements:

EU passport or Spanish residency (UK candidates may also apply)

PGCE or equivalent qualification in Education

A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience (NQTs may also apply)

A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check

A full 5 year reference check

If you would like to join our team, please send your CV and covering letter to

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and interviews will take place via zoom/SKYPE/ Google Meet. If you have not heard from us within six weeks of submitting your application, please assume you were unsuccessful this time
