Job overview

Tes is supporting the appointment of a Community School and College to join a Teacher of Religious Education based in Essex.

Pay Range: Teachers Main/Upper Pay Scale

Actual Salary from: £30,000 - £46,525

Start Date: 1ST September 2024

The Role

The school is a community in which they believe everyone, students and staff alike, should have the opportunity to be nourished and grow. Therefore, they are seeking to recruit a proactive and forward thinking member of staff to enrich the skills and experience already present in their Humanities Faculty. They aim to foster an inclusive culture where everyone is able to learn from each other. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and diligent.

The school community is expanding which makes this a particularly unique and exciting time to join their school. They have a new teaching block consisting of 8 new classrooms and 4 specialist Design and Technology rooms fully equipped. A further large scale internal refurbishment took place over the 2022/23 academic year which has further improved their school environment for all.

The school values of Aspiration, Resilience and Kindness describe the ethos that flows through their school. They expect all members of staff to feed into their values and lead by example to their students. They believe that every member of staff has the potential to impact on student experience and therefore they encourage their staff, both teaching and support, to immerse themselves in their school culture.

Applications from outstanding professionals who believe they can contribute to their school community are greatly welcomed. If you are willing to invest in them, they will invest in you which they believe makes the experience at The School especially exciting.

Please note that they reserve the right to close this advert early should they receive an overwhelming response.

Should you be successful during the shortlisting process interviews will be held face to face at the school.

The position will suit an experienced or newly qualified teacher.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Be fully qualified to teach through the secondary age range;
  • To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people in the school;

  • Teaching experience within the secondary sector;
  • An excellent knowledge of a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and how to use them effectively;
