The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our successful Religious Education Department. We are looking for someone who can inspire engagement in the classroom and capture the enthusiasm pupils have for learning RE. The right candidate will:

  • Be passionate about Religious Education, and capable of enthusing and inspiring both pupils and staff.
  • Is capable of maintaining and developing exciting, imaginative and effective curriculum for all Key 3, 4 and 5.
  • Has excellent organisational and ICT skills.
  • Will support and follow the Catholic ethos of the School.
  • Be committed to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.
  • Have the capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills.


This appointment has a wider school responsibility in working with the Chaplain to develop spirituality of our students and the liturgical life of the school. St Alban’s is an over subscribed Catholic school and we seek to appoint a practising Catholic to this post although we would welcome applications from people who would support our ethos.

About St Alban's Catholic High School

St Alban’s Catholic High School is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form with academy status located in Ipswich, Suffolk. It is the only Catholic High School in the Ipswich area and religious education forms part of the core curriculum. 

The School premises have been improved in recent years with the addition of a new sixth form block and library and the refurbishment of some existing facilities.
