Job overview
St Mary’s is one of the two Diocesan high schools for students of all abilities that serves families on the Wirral. In November 2016 St Mary’s joined the Holy Family Catholic Multi Academy Trust which includes the other Wirral Catholic High School St John Plessington which has been consistently judged to be Outstanding in OFSTED inspections. It is an exciting time in our College.
The opportunity for the two schools to work collaboratively to share best practice is already beginning to bear fruit; with improvements in English and maths results in 2017, and a significant improvement in our College's Progress 8 score placing us in the top 10% nationally for improvement in this key measure. Together we have been able to offer a programme of continuous professional development that we believe is second to none. There is bespoke provision at whatever career stage a colleague is at currently to meet their professional needs and ambitions.
As you would expect our Religious Education department is well resourced with a suite of classrooms and class sizes that reflect our determination to ensure our students realise their potential. Philosophy and Ethics is a very popular choice at A Level.
We are looking to recruit a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Religious Education who will join a supportive team focused on improving standards through engaging students in their learning.
We can offer you the professional development to support you in being successful in the role and the opportunity to work with our students of whom we are very proud. The opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills is available for the right candidate.
We are committed to safeguarding the young people in our care, and we expect all our staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to relevant clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
