Job overview

The Faculty of Science comprises a dedicated team of experienced educators committed to fostering a love for science and empowering students to excel in their understanding of the natural world. Together, we strive to engage students with a challenging science curriculum that encourages critical thinking and inquiry-based learning.

Our team is collaborative and innovative, continuously working together to develop resources and lesson plans that maximise student progress. We aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel motivated to explore scientific concepts and develop essential skills for future academic and professional pursuits.

At Key Stage 3, students delve into a variety of stimulating scientific topics, exploring the fundamental principles of biology, chemistry, and physics. Through hands-on experiments and purposeful investigations, students develop a deep understanding of scientific phenomena and their relevance to the world around them.

As students' progress to Key Stage 4, they build upon their foundational knowledge and apply their skills through the study of the Pearson Edexcel GCSE separate science or combined science specifications allowing students to pursue future career opportunities in STEM fields.

Beyond the classroom, our faculty offers a range of personal development opportunities to enhance students' scientific experiences. From science club and educational trips to robotics competitions, we provide opportunities for students to explore their interests and engage with science outside of traditional lesson settings.

Currently, our faculty consists of seven passionate teachers who teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, led by our Faculty Leader and supported by an Assistant Headteacher and Lead Practitioner. Together, we are committed to inspiring and empowering the next generation of scientists.
