Light Hall School is a co-educational comprehensive of 1200 students aged 11-16, located to the west of Solihull Town centre in the district of Shirley. The school draws students from Solihull and Birmingham, and has an intake that has a broad mix of both attainment and socioeconomic backgrounds.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience teaching science within an enthusiastic, experienced and very successful team in a happy, harmonious school. We have a team of dedicated and hardworking teachers and an experienced leadership team, to support you.

As a teacher of science, you will be joining an experienced group of qualified science practitioners, who very much work as a team. Science is enjoyed by students across all year groups of the school, particularly when doing experiments. All students are entered for combined science, with our highest attaining (approximately 25% of the whole cohort) studying for the separate sciences. Under the leadership of a new Head of Faculty, results in core and additional science improved last year, particularly with our pupil premium students in the separate sciences. Attainment at GCSE is above the national average.
