We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and dynamic teacher to join our successful Design and Technology Faculty, someone with energy and innovation with a passion for Design Technology and the learning experience.
The successful candidate will be able to teach across the ability and age range, supporting the development of Design Technology to the highest standard for all students. This post is suitable for ECTs and experienced teachers looking for a new challenge. For the right candidate we may be able to train and support you to develop a second subject.

The school is a popular and successful 11-18 comprehensive situated in the beautiful North Essex countryside with good communications to London and the South East and is approximately 7 miles from Stansted Airport.
This is an exciting time to join the school:
• In September 2021, the school opened a Primary phase, with children in Reception and Key Stage 1. Together with the expansion of the Sixth Form, the school will grow to become an all-through school of 2000 pupils from ages 4 to 18.
• The school will relocate to a world-class, purpose built site, close to our current location in Dunmow. The school is set to open to the primary phase in 2025 and the secondary and sixth form phase in 2026.
• Helena Romanes has made excellent progress with the support of Saffron Academy Trust towards being judged by Ofsted as a Good school (Oct 2023). Working with the talented senior leadership team that is in place across all phases of the school, and drawing on the commitment from staff to provide the best possible outcomes for the pupils.

About Helena Romanes School
We are a mixed 4 – 18 Academy with over 1200 pupils on roll. The school is situated in beautiful countryside, occupying approximately 35 acres just to the north of Great Dunmow.
The school was established in 1958 and is named in honour of the first Chair of Governors.
At Helena Romanes, we are ambitious for our pupils and we offer them a rich and varied curriculum. Our pupils develop the skills, knowledge and understanding that enables them to move successfully into higher education, apprenticeships, training or employment.
While academic achievement is of crucial importance, we also ensure that we focus effectively on developing our pupils’ personal, social and creative skills. Our aim is that pupils leave Helena Romanes as successful, confident and considerate young adults.
