We are seeking an outstanding and talented teacher of textiles who is able to inspire our girls with a love of textile and support their academic progression and personal development.

The successful candidate is likely to be a graduate in Fashion or Textiles, and they will need to be comfortable teaching Textiles from key stage 3 up to and including A Level, to academically able young people.  You must have a thorough understanding of Textiles both in and beyond the classroom.

Textiles is a very popular subject within the school and is well resourced. All staff are fully supported in their professional development and applications are encouraged from either experienced teachers or ECTs.

All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checking procedures. Application Forms and Job Description may be downloaded from the School Website www.edgbastonhigh.co.uk. Please send applications to the HR & Compliance Officer, Miss M Mahmood, at mahmoodm@edgbastonhigh.co.uk.

To comply with KCSIE Edgbaston High School for Girls is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and Disclosure and Barring Services.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children."
