Job overview

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and conscientious Learning Mentor - Teaching Assistant Level 3 to join our team at Chorlton High School.

The role is working 35 hours per week, term-time only plus five additional training days. The post is a Grade 4, the starting pro-rata salary is £20,896 and the full time equivalent is £24,294.

Main duties of the job

  • Working under guidance of the pastoral team you will provide support to students who require additional guidance in overcoming a range of barriers to learning. This support is likely to include working individually with pupils, working with pupils in small groups, working with other parties/agencies including parents.

This will include:

  • supporting students with a range of emotional, social, motivational or behavioural issues through mentoring to enable the student to agree plans and targets to move forwards
  • running small group interventions e.g. organisational support for home learning, wellbeing support to enhance their emotional health and well-being


Key relationships

All members of staff (Teaching, Safeguarding team, Pastoral team, SENCO, SLT), students, governors, and parents.
