We are currently looking to appoint a Lower School Teaching Assistant to join our support staff team at Yateley Manor School. This is a great opportunity for a passionate individual to join our school. With our school thriving we require an additional Teaching Assistant, this is a full time, term time only position working 8:00 – 4:00, Monday to Friday.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant who will be able to provide support both in and outside the classroom.
Yateley Manor is a leading co-educational independent school in the town of Yateley, North Hampshire, with approximately 250 children on roll from Nursery to Year 8. The School has recently announced the exciting news that it plans to expand to take GCSE students, with the first Year 9 cohort starting in September 2024. Yateley Manor School are part of the Inspired Learning Group.
The school is non-selective and a member of IAPS. Class sizes are small and teaching areas bright and purposeful. Facilities at the school include an indoor swimming pool, large sports hall, woodland learning area, climbing wall, tennis courts and playing fields.
The successful candidate should be passionate about children’s learning.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who will be able to join our excellent team of staff. We would like to hear from you if you;
- Have experience of working with children with special educational needs (SEND) in a primary school setting.
- Have GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English.
- Have a qualification as recognised by the National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning (NOS-STL).
- Have knowledge and understanding of the different social, cultural and physical needs of children.
- Have an interest in how children learn and behave.
- Can be a role model for students both in the classroom and around school
- Genuinely care about children, particularly those who find learning and managing their behaviour difficult.
- Have training in aspects of SEND, i.e. ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism or experience of supporting pupils with those needs
Having in school experience is essential for this position, if you have any of the following this will be looked upon favourably.
- Experience in delivering 1:1 or small group booster session in literacy and numeracy.
- Experience working with children with EAL.
- Experience with gifted and talented children.
