Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Teaching Assistant to support the learning in the Primary classrooms on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave. This position will be a period of 12 months or up until the return of the post-holder whichever is soonest.


The applicant will need to be flexible and able to use their own initiative to support and prioritise the needs of children within the class.


The academy works closely with relevant professionals involved in the care of this young person and all necessary training will be provided.

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Show good behaviour management skills
  • Have an understanding of strategies to support children with cognition and learning needs.
  • Have experience of delivering interventions

About Bridgwater College Academy

Bridgwater College Academy is the only all-through mainstream Academy in Somerset and opened in 2012.  Student numbers are divided equally between Primary and Secondary phases; we also have a nursery provision too. The Academy was the first sponsored Academy within the Bridgwater and Taunton College Trust, which now hosts seven Academies and is itself set to continue to expand in the future.
