Therapy Assistant – Occupational Therapy (Physical and Sensory)

Hours:  37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays per annum (52 week)

Salary: Highly competitive (Band 4 equivalent)

We’re looking for a Therapy Assistant – Occupational Therapy (Physical and Sensory) to join the Outcomes First Group.

The post holder will form part of the Wellbeing Hub across the east region.  However, mainly situated at Acorn Park School, but providing a service to other schools, residential homes and if required fostering agencies within the region.

Someone with a holistic and integrated approach to care, education and clinical services would be perfect for this role.

About the Role

The role of Therapy Assistant – Occupational Therapy (Physical and Sensory) is to form part of a Regional Wellbeing Hub; supporting and enhancing the implementation of communication and interaction at a universal and targeted level of intervention across all divisions supporting each provision, its staff and parents/carers in meeting the needs of children, young people and adults through a tiered approach; achieving our objective of providing an integrated care model.

This position assists with physical and sensory interventions under the supervision/monitoring of a qualified and registered clinician, assisting with assessments and planning, data/research collection, carrying out service evaluation, specific analysis and delivery of therapeutic sessions. The position will also include preparation of information and resources needed by the team to support clinical (specialist) intervention. 

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Therapy Assistant to join our Regional Wellbeing Hub and play a role in supporting the development and implementation of a specialist level of psychological intervention. 

The multi-disciplinary team will help provide all levels of intervention to surrounding provisions within the Outcomes First Group, so the post holder will need to have their own means of transport. The post-holder will work independently according to a plan agreed with the clinical team and within the overall framework of the service policies and procedures. A key aspect of the role will include delivering Occupational Therapy (Physical and Sensory) informed interventions at a universal and targeted level to support our wider teams in meeting our children, young peoples and adults needs.

The role is required to take place in a range of settings across the group in applying assessments and the delivery of therapeutic sessions as directed and supervised by the clinical team. Skills in the management of data are also important as the role includes collecting and analysing data to inform various pieces of service delivery, development and project work.

• Qualification in a Therapeutic Model
• Experience in working within a multi-disciplinary teams
• Experience of working with children, young people and/or adults
• Demonstrable ability to complete clinical tasks
• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of key partners
• Ability to work sensitively with people and resolve conflict
