We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join our dynamic team at Amethyst Academies Trust. As a SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the diverse needs of our students and championing their success.

Amethyst Academies Trust, located in Wolverhampton, comprises three mainstream schools and two specialist schools. We are deeply rooted in our local community and pride ourselves on fostering positive relationships with our students, staff, and families. Our Trust is on an exciting journey of progress and growth, with student success at the heart of everything we do.

As a vital member of a school Leadership Team, the SENCO will lead the provision of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support. You will work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external partners to ensure the needs of all students are met effectively. Your role will involve developing and implementing strategies to support students with diverse needs, fostering an inclusive learning environment, and ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.

We are seeking candidates with a proven track record of exemplary teaching and a detailed understanding of the SEND Code of Practice. Experience working effectively with local authorities and supporting the additional needs associated with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) pupils is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate high aspirations for themselves and others, a commitment to ongoing development, and the ability to build strong rapport with students.

We can offer you:

  • A Caring Work Environment: Join a team that values your well-being and understands the importance of family priorities. We pride ourselves on being considerate employers, ensuring a supportive atmosphere that goes beyond professional life.
  • Dedicated time: Experience weekly opportunities to work remotely, providing you with the necessary time and space to meticulously plan high-quality lessons. We prioritise your flexibility and recognise the importance of creating an environment that fosters exceptional teaching
  • Professional Growth: Unlock your potential with our excellent professional development opportunities and guidance. Our comprehensive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program provides a pathway for progression, empowering you to flourish in your career.
  • Supportive Community: Join a community of friendly and supportive colleagues.
  • Technology-Enabled Teaching: Enjoy the benefits of a modern teaching environment where every member of staff is equipped with a laptop and high quality WIFI connectivity. This not only aids innovative teaching but also contributes to reducing workload pressures.
  • Exceptional Students: Teach and engage with students known for their helpfulness, good manners, and pride in their appearance. Create an inspiring learning environment where students are eager to participate and succeed.
  • Vibrant Extracurriculars: Experience a school culture enriched with a wide variety of clubs, trips, events, and opportunities. Beyond the classroom, we believe in providing a holistic educational experience.
  • Facilities for Well-Being: Enjoy the convenience of free onsite parking and access to our onsite fitness suite. We believe in promoting a healthy work-life balance and providing facilities that contribute to your overall well-being.
