Job overview

The role of HLTA at Foxfield is an integral one to support both the teachers who are taking their PPA and the children’s learning in the classroom. The HLTA takes on greater responsibility than a TA, including covering classes and planning and teaching their own lessons. You must have experience of teaching in EYFS, key stage one and key stage two. You must have a strong knowledge of the EYFS and primary curriculum from key stage one up to key stage two. You must ensure you have the capacity and flexibility to be deployed across the school to provide high quality teaching and learning whilst maintaining strong relationships and behaviour for learning.

Our children are curious learners, who engage readily with their learning, consistently demonstrate our values and want to do their very best. Excellent practices and systems in our school, support children with additional needs to be successful and confident. Our curriculum is world class. Through our global themes, we provide our children with opportunities to make sense of the world they live in, think critically about world issues and to develop an awareness of the impact our actions can have on others.

Teaching and learning is at the heart of our work. Our staff are incredibly committed to their own professional development and regularly undertake research projects to enhance their practice. Along with this, they are warm, engaging and supportive practitioners who make the best colleagues to work alongside.

The successful candidate will be someone who is keen to build on their passion for providing our young people with the very best learning experiences.

About Foxfield Primary School

Foxfield Primary school is part of Inspire Partnership, a small multi-academy trust working in Greenwich and Medway to transform student lives.

As a partnership of schools we are better able to support our students, we strongly believe in the power of collaboration and continually work together to find innovative ways of working.

We ensure that every child is given the best support possible to fulfil their potential. We work closely with outside agencies to meet additional needs of pupils and parent partnerships are seen as vital to supporting pupils' learning.

Comments from our Outstanding 2023 OFSTED Inspection include:

Foxfield gives pupils an experience that goes well beyond the ordinary. It sets the highest academic and personal standards, with a clear focus on helping pupils to become thoughtful, independent young people.

Pupils are highly respectful of others, and their behaviour is impeccable. They know that behaving well is more than just obeying the rules but also about adhering to important values, such as tolerance and open-mindedness. This is amply illustrated by pupils, who comment that they ‘don’t look at the person’ but ‘at their hearts’

Pupils’ personal development is promoted very successfully through a wide range of initiatives. These include before- and after-school clubs and many opportunities to contribute to the life of the school. For example, the junior leadership team has helped to improve the playground.
