ASSISTANT HEADTEACHER- INCLUSION (SENDCo)

Dormers Wells Infant and Junior School is seeking to appoint a highly skilled, ambitious and dynamic individual who can significantly contribute to the Senior Leadership Team, through this strategic SEN Inclusion role. The Assistant Head Teacher SENDCo will work in close partnership with the Head, Deputy and Assistant Headteacher (Achievement). You will have direct impact on maintaining and improving the school’s performance, particularly in SEND.
The successful candidate will be asked to:
· Lead and manage the SEND and MAGT provision across the whole school
· Lead on all matters relating to SEND, including implement SEND legislation
· Ensure that there are detailed teaching programmes and appropriate provision for all pupils on the Special Needs Register
· Liaise with all outside agencies in relation to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disability
· Deploy and line manage members of the SEND/Inclusion Support team
· Apply for Educational Health Care Plans

Dormers Wells Infant and Junior School is a federated, multicultural Infant School Academy – part of the Dormers Wells Learning Trust in Southall, with a strong reputation for and commitment to inclusion and child protection. The Junior School was Graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted, with ‘Outstanding’ Behaviour and Attitudes and Personal Development in June 2022. The schools are currently in the process of consulting on amalgamation to become a Primary School, from September 2023.
