Associate Assistant Headteacher / Head of Mathematics, Business and Computing

Salary on appropriate point within scale L7-11

Full time, permanent position

Required from Tuesday 27 August 2024, a colleague with a proven track record of fostering high standards and excellence, to join our senior leadership team. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the Mathematics, Business and Computing Faculty, but will also be rewarded for such a key responsibility by becoming part of the senior leadership team. This is an exciting time as the faculty has recently expanded to incorporate new subjects and results reached an all-time high last year.

The successful candidate will probably take a lead on an aspect of school performance data collection, analysis, tracking and intervention. This will be alongside their effective leadership of a team of individuals who may be teaching a combination of the faculty subjects. They might have new ideas about curriculum design and will definitely be interested in maintaining the already high levels of interest, joy and motivation in the subjects offered.

Woodbrook Vale School is an award winning and highly over subscribed 11-16 single academy trust located within the university town of Loughborough. The school is an Ofsted-rated “good” school (February 2022) and has a track record of excellent GCSE results. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to innovate and further build upon the school’s success to ensure students aspire to be the best they can possibly be.

The school ethos engenders a supportive learning environment and we are committed to giving every student the drive to ‘aspire, enjoy, and succeed’. Our approach to teaching and learning is informed by our work on growth mindset and knowledge-based approaches. Our school culture is predicated on the importance of character education and we were recently quoted as being one of the leading schools in the country for character education.
