We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, committed, and talented teacher to lead and manage the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities.

Salary/Grade: L14-18

Contract Start Date: September 2024 start or earlier


Are you passionate about Special Educational Needs and able to work in partnership with parents/carers and a wide range of external professionals?

We are looking for a leader with excellent communication skills and a passion for supporting young people with additional needs. You will need to have a strong track record of leading a team in an educational setting, demonstrating your capacity to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents and external agencies. You will also have proven experience of identifying, evaluating and providing effective strategies for students with SEND and other vulnerable groups as an important part of the role will be sharing and leading on best practice. As an Associate Assistant Principal, you will have a reduced timetable, with significant time put aside to carry out your wider responsibilities as SENDCo.

The school welcomes applications from both experienced SENCOs and those with leadership experience who are passionate about Special Educational Needs and wish to specialise in this area. The successful candidate will have completed or be willing to complete the National Award for Special Education Co-ordination.

  • Show a track record of implementing strategies that lead to improvement in both standards and outcomes.
  • Have a passion for working with young people to develop their own excellence and be committed to raising students’ aspirations.
  • Have excellent communication, organisational and inter-personal skills.
  • Aspire to lead their own school as Headteacher in the future.
