We are seeking to appoint a part time Careers Adviser. Steyning Grammar School is committed to providing students with high-quality Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) regarding the full range of educational pathways and career options. 

 

Good careers guidance can support students in making informed choices regarding their next steps, this includes but is not limited to option choices in year 8, post 16 plans and higher education/ post 18 choices. We support our students in this process by providing access to differentiated impartial and independent information and guidance about the range of options and opportunities that are most likely to help them to achieve their ambitions. 

 

We believe that giving students the best careers education and guidance is vital to improving their motivation to learn and help them to achieve. We follow the Gatsby Benchmarks for Good Careers Guidance including adhering to the Baker Clause of the Education Act. 

 

We are looking to appoint a part time careers advisor to work alongside our Careers Leader and senior leadership link.

 

The careers advisor will play an essential role within the team, providing students with essential advice and guidance to help them make informed decisions regarding their next steps and future plans. Guidance will include 1:1 and small group sessions for both post 16 and post 18 progression paths alongside providing students with write ups and guidance notes following discussions.

 

The successful applicant must have or be working towards one of the following:

●       Postgraduate diploma or masters degree in career guidance. These courses lead to the Qualification in Career Development (QCD).

●       Level 6 Career development professional higher apprenticeship

●       Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development
